Dapeng joins hands with Tencent to develop digital economy

On July 10, Dapeng New District signed a deepened strategic cooperation agreement with tech giant Tencent, under the witness of Liu Guangyang, deputy Party chief of the Party Work Committee of Dapeng New District and director of Dapeng New District Management Committee, and Shen Dan, deputy Party chief of the Party Committee of Tencent and vice president of the Public Affairs Department of Tencent Group.

According to the agreement, the two sides will take full advantage of their shared resources to work together in a number of fields including smart city, digital government, smart medical care, smart culture and tourism and smart Baguang, in an effort to accelerate the construction and development of the digital economy of Dapeng.

Tencent will further utilize its capabilities in cloud computing, big data and 5G to help speed up the application and growth of Internet of Things (IoT) and improve the level of digitization in Dapeng.

In terms of digital government, the two sides will strive to simplify processes and increase the efficiency of handling affairs for residents. Additionally, Tencent will also help government departments to unify data management by gathering the data from smart education, smart old-age care and smart communities.

As concerns smart medical care, Tencent will facilitate the combination of advanced science and technology with medical science to provide residents with more convenient and efficient online and offline medical care services.

Regarding smart culture and tourism, Dapeng will rely on Tencent’s WeChat platforms and mini apps to promote scenic spots in the new district. Dapeng will innovate practices in self-service ticketing, smart interpretation and guidance as well as contactless payment services.

In terms of smart Baguang, Tencent will deepen its engagement in the construction of smart industrial parks in Baguang through Tencent cloud services, WeChat accounts and mini apps.
