A ceremony marking the start of construction work on 10 key projects was held July 29 in Baishigang, Kuixin Community, Kuichong Subdistrict. Yang Jun, Party chief of the Party Work Committee of Dapeng New District and leader Sun Xiaojie among others attended the ceremony.

According to Kuichong Subdistrict, these projects are closely related to people's livelihoods, transportation and environment improvement with an investment of nearly 4.017 billion yuan, including construction of natural gas pipelines in urban villages and hiking trails in Kuichong Park.

The construction of these projects is intended to help Kuichong speed up the process of urban renewal and improve the community's sense of well-being.

The urban renewal projects in Baishigang, with a total investment of about 2 billion yuan, cover a land area of 78,252.8 square meters. Of the 67,989.5 square meters of land in this area to be demolished, 42,301.3 square meters will be used for construction. In addition, 19,160 square meters of land will be used for affordable housing, 28,200 square meters for a nine-year school and 13,000 square meters for public support facilities.

This year is the third successive year Kuichong Subdistrict has launched key projects. In 2018, Kuichong Subdistrict invested 55.5 million yuan for the renovation of one community park and six roads, one community environment improvement, one street greening and the construction of a cultural facility. In 2019, the subdistrict invested 247 million yuan in key projects covering urban renewal, riverway improvements, natural gas pipelines and road construction.
