The Management Committee of Dapeng New District signed two important cooperation framework agreements with TK Healthcare Investment Holdings and GIR Medicine Company Limited respectively at the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Life & Health Industrial Summit held in Dapeng New District on March 6. Guests in attendance included Yang Jun, Party chief of the Party Working Committee of Dapeng New District, Sun Xiaojie and Wu Bo, members of the Party Working Committee of Dapeng New District and deputy directors of the Management Committee of Dapeng New District, as well as experts and entrepreneurs in the industry.

According to the New District, the signing of the agreements marks a significant step to consolidate Dapeng’s economic strength on the foundation of ecological development and to invigorate Dapeng’s bio-medicine and massive health industrial development.

The agreement states that Dapeng and TK Healthcare will make full use of their advantages to deepen cooperation in the integration of life and health industrial resources, infrastructures and research institutes, in a bid to further support Dapeng’s frontrunner role ininnovations of biomedical research, life and health services and life science and technology.

Meanwhile, Dapeng will join hands with GIR Medicine Co., Ltd. to build a Dapeng Transformation Center of an industry-university-research basefor a nationalkeylaboratory of respiratory diseases and to enhance cooperation in biosafety, biopharmaceuticals, environmental purification, respiratory health and other fields.

Yang mentioned in his speech that Dapeng has introduced teams led by Nobel laureates J.D. Watson and Barry J. Marshall, as well as those headed by Wang Rongfu, Ni Jiazuǎn and other Chinese and foreign academicians. A bio-industrial cluster is emerging in Dapeng with the gathering of the National Gene Bank, the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences Genome Institute and other first-class innovation teams and innovation platforms from home and abroad.

Duan Xiaowei, head of the Dapeng New District Science and Technology Innovation and Economic Services Bureau, gave a comprehensive introduction to the socio-economic development of Dapeng New District, in which Duan elaborated on the planning and positioning, industrial layout, status quo, industrial support and policy support of the Baguang Core Start-up Area of Shenzhen International Bio-Valley.

Duan said that Dapeng will strive to create a high-quality business environment by offering preferential policies and excellent services to attract outstanding enterprises and leading enterprises.

Keynote speeches and roundtable forums were also held on the sideline of the summit.
