Recently, a group of Chinese and expatriate residents were invited by the Dapeng Subdistrict of Dapeng New District to learn how to make wedding rice noodles with dried radish, a traditional Dapeng delicacy that is listed as an intangible cultural heritage. With the help of an on-site interpreter, expats learned about the development history of the wedding rice noodles with dried radish that dates back more than 600 years. An instructor also demonstrated the whole process of making the traditional delicacy, including grinding rice into rice pulp, using coconut shells to drain the pulp into strips, and sprinkling shrimp and fish strips and other ingredients. At the end, each participant tasted the delicious food of their own making.
