The Qiniang Mountain Nursing Home of Nan’ao People’s Hospital was recently approved as a model facility for integrating medical and health care.

The Guangdong Provincial Health Commission published its list of the second batch of Guangdong’s demonstration institutions in terms of medical and health care integration, and the Qiniang Mountain Nursing Home of Nan’ao People’s Hospital, a branch of Shenzhen Second People’s Hospital, was among the 10 institutions in the province that were approved to receive the recognition.

The Qiniang Mountain Nursing Home has successfully created a replicable and promotable model for grassroots communities to integrate all-inclusive medical and health care, and is among the first batch of demonstration bases for health care integration in Shenzhen.

The predecessor of the Qiniang Mountain Nursing Home was the Nan’ao Nursing Home, which has 20 years of history and covered 4,000 square meters; however, at one time there were only two elderly residents.

In 2021, government departments of Dapeng New District worked together to upgrade and renovate the nursing home in accordance with the high standards of star-rated elderly institutions with 85 beds. The Nan’ao Nursing Home was then transformed and given the new name Qiniang Mountain Nursing Home, which is fully hosted by the Nan’ao People’s Hospital, providing geriatric medicine, public health, general medicine, day care, short-term care and other diversified services for elderly residents.
