On Jan. 2, around 200 Chinese and expatriate residents in Dapeng Subdistrict, Dapeng New District, gathered at the Kaisa Holiday Plaza in Dapeng to celebrate the New Year together with music, exhibitions and fun interactive games, all part of the international block of Dapeng Subdistrict’ New Year’s themed events.

At the bilingual exhibition area, introductions of well-known scenic spots including Dapeng Fortress, Jiaochangwei and Jinsha Bay were on display in Chinese and English.

During the quiz round, participants answered questions regarding Dapeng’s development, folk customs and international etiquette.

Ismelda from Venezuela and her family had a great time at the event. “It was memorable to welcome the New Year in this special way with the locals. I have been living in Dapeng since May 2021, and I have experienced the changes that have been brought about by the development of Dapeng’s diversity and integration,” Ismelda said.
