Construction on Shenzhen-Huizhou Intercity Railway’s Dapeng spur line is making new progress, as shield construction operations have begun, Shenzhen Evening News reported.

The Dapeng spur line, spanning about 39.4 kilometers long, starts from Longcheng Station in Longgang District, passes through Longgang and Pingshan districts, and ends at Xinda Station in Dapeng New District. The line is expected to be completed and open to traffic in 2026.

The whole line will set up six stations, including Longcheng, Pingshan, Yanzi Lake, Kuichong, Dapeng and Xinda. After the line’s completion, residents will be able to reach Longgang and Pingshan from Dapeng in half an hour.
