A special event to mark the weeklong national campaign to promote energy conservation (Dapeng New District division) was held at the Shenzhen Energy East Power Plant in Dapeng New District on Wednesday.

An opening ceremony was held during the event, followed by lectures on carbon peak, carbon neutrality, energy conservation and emission reduction.

It is said that the new district has assisted enterprises in 40 energy conservation projects and has provided subsidies worth over 14 million yuan (US$1.95 million) in energy conservation and emission reduction. 

During the event, the city’s first LNG cold energy utilization pilot program was launched as representatives from Guangdong Dapeng LNG Co. Ltd. and Chongqing Paichi Co. Ltd. signed a cooperation agreement onsite.

For its next step, Dapeng New District will put forward works on carbon peak and carbon neutrality, in order to realize the new district’s efforts achieve national “dual carbon” goals.
