A total of 300 mountaineering enthusiasts gathered in Nan’ao Subdistrict, Dapeng New District on Saturday to compete in the 2nd Nan’ao “Qiniang Mountain” climbing event. The mountaineers climbed all the way up and finally reached the top of Qiniang Mountain.

With an altitude of 869 meters, Qiniang Mountain is the highest mountain in Dapeng Peninsula and the second highest in Shenzhen after Wutong Mountain at 943.7 meters in Yantian District.

After an intense race, the first team of the “Dapeng New District Joy Run” group won the championship in a time of 51 minutes and 24 seconds, and the runner-up and the second runner-up were running teams “Shenzhen Wild Horse” and the second team of the “Dapeng New District Joy Run” in a time of 1:01:18 and a time of 1:04:18 respectively.

According to the organizer, the race route was connected by the main peaks of the geological relics on Qiniang Mountain with a total length of about 3.5 kilometers. Climbing along the route, participants were able to not only enjoy the beautiful mountain and sea sceneries, but also experience the charm of geological features. Contestants were required to compete in teams of four, and they all must make it to the finish line. The last player’s result was counted as the team’s final result.

In its second year, the Nan’ao “Qiniang Mountain” climbing event has grown into one of the most important and popular sports events in Nan’ao and even in Dapeng.
