From:Shenzhen DailyUpdated:2021-04-27

The peak of vehicles leaving the city for the May Day holiday travel is expected to begin at around 8 p.m. Friday. As the expressways will be toll free, the transportation bureau advised holidaymakers to stagger their traveling hours.

The number of vehicles on Shenzhen roads will start mounting up from 3 p.m. Friday and expressways like Longda, Jihe and Shuiguan will be congested, the transport bureau said yesterday, citing historic data.

The city’s roads to major terminals like Shenzhen Railway Station, Shenzhen Bao’an International Airport and Shenzhen North Railway Station are also expected to be congested. Shenzhen North Railway Station is estimated to handle 1.53 million passenger trips between Thursday and May 6. Shenzhen Railway Station and Shenzhen East Railway Station will handle 500,000 passenger trips.

The railway operator will reconnect 49 pairs of trains, in additional to regular trains, on the Guangzhou-Shenzhen-Hong Kong railway, Hangzhou-Shenzhen railway and Shenzhen-Zhanjiang railway. Shenzhen East Railway Station will also add nine pairs of express trains between Shenzhen and Yueyang, Yongzhou, Changsha, Shaoguan, Nanxiong, Dapu, Nanchang and Jiujiang.
