First stop: Watch the sunrise at Xichong Beach

Second stop: Hiking from Dongchong to Xichong

The Dongchong-Xichong coastline, which is located at Dapeng Peninsula, was once listed as one of the most beautiful hiking routes in China.
This novice-level hiking route is about 6 kilometers long, half-hiking trail and half-coastline. It will take you 4 to 5 hours in the cooler season and 5 to 6 hour in summer to reach the Xichong beach. Novice hikers should take precautions to ensure their safety and refrain from hiking here alone.

Third stop: Cycling in Yangmeikeng

Yangmeikeng is considered the most beautiful valley in Nan'ao, Dapeng New District, and is a popular spot for Shenzhen residents to enjoy a fun seaside getaway. The green track in Yangmeikeng is built along its 12-kilometer-long coastal line. Along the route the Yandongpu section is especially stunning, being an ideal place to witness the city’s first rays of sunshine each morning. While cycling, a quiet and wild sea will be on your left, and a rocky ravine on your right. Cycling from Yangmeikeng to Luzuishanzhuang will surely leave you with an unforgettable memory.
For the thirsty cyclist there is a wide selection of stylish inns and bars in the area.
Where to get started: Yangmeikeng, or anywhere along the coastal line in Nan'ao, Dapeng New District

Transport: Take Bus E11 from downtown Shenzhen to Nao’ao Subdistrict Office, then transfer to Bus M274 and get off at Nan’ao Yangmeikeng Station. 
Fourth stop: Climb Qiniang Mountain

Qiniang Mountain, with an elevation of 869 meters, is the second-tallest mountain in Shenzhen after Wutong Mountain. The total length is about 12 kilometers. This mountain still remains mostly unexplored. Novice hikers are advised to be cautious.

Transport: Take the Metro line 8 to Liantang Station or Gymnasium Station, then take bus E11 to the last stop. Next, take a motorcycle or taxi to the destination.
Fifth Stop: Jiaochangwei

Jiaochangwei is the only village with a coastline in Dapeng District, Shenzhen. There are many homesteads in the village of different styles and invincible seascapes. These buildings have already become a gorgeous and colorful landscape on the island.
In a leisurely afternoon, you can stay in a cafeé along the beach, feel the breeze and enjoy sun bathing. You can also stroll down the breezy lanes of Jiaochangwei with a camera in-hand to experience the easygoing local culture.

Sixth stop: Dapeng Fortress

Dapeng Fortress is a walled village that was built in 1394 to protect the area from pirates. It later developed into a town during the Ming and Qing dynasties. The main dialect spoken in this village today is the Dapeng dialect, a mix of Hakka and Cantonese.

Transport: Take bus B756, M471 or E11 to the Dapeng Fortress stop
Seventh stop: Eat at Nan'ao Seafood Street

Nan'ao is famous for its seafood. At noon and in the afternoon, local seafood dealers will collect fresh seafood from nearby fishermen. There are two places to eat seafood in Nan’ao. One is the seafront corridor at the Nan’ao Shuangyong wharf, and the other is Shui Tau Seafood Street, which is just across the road from the Nan’ao Hotel.
There are a lot of seafood restaurants along the seafront corridor, and the prices are cheap. However, it should be noted that the cooking fee for seafood is separate from its own price, so be sure to ask. The seafood stalls at Shui Tau Seafood Street are separate from the restaurants. Diners first pick out their desired entrees live at a seafood stall then bring the purchases to the restaurant for preparation.
