Dapeng Fortress is located in Pengcheng Community, with a history of over 600 years.It was built in the 27th year of the reign of Emperor Hongwu of the Ming Dynasty (i.e. AD 1394). It was a military stronghold for maritime defense during the Ming and Qing dynasties, from which Shenzhen got its nickname "Pengcheng." It is now one of the "National Key Cultural Relics Protection Sites," one of the "Famous Chinese Historical and Cultural Villages," and one of the "Eight Views of Shenzhen." Besides, there are many key cultural heritage buildings such as General Lai Enjue's Former Residence, General Liu Qilong's Former Residence, and Yiwen Building, as well as a number of high-quality service spaces such as the Wenshan Tea Space, Fangzhi Bookstore, the Coffee Story House, the Qingwayuan High-end Restaurant, and the 789 Islands Whisky Life House.
