"The Story of Spring"

On June 11, six red tourism routes in Shenzhen for learning the CPC history were officially unveiled in Futian District's Shenzhen Museum of Contemporary Art and Urban Planning.

The six routes feature 30 major red tourism scenic spots in Shenzhen and each route has a unique theme, namely, "Reform and Opening Up in the New Era," "The Story of Spring," "Revolutionary Days of Dongjiang Guerrilla Column," "Original Aspirations," "Emancipating the Mind and Standing Up to the Tide," and "Red Footprint."

Route 2 “The Story of Spring

This route includes Sea World (Minghua Cruise Ship), Lianhua Hill Park (Deng Xiaoping Bronze Statue), Shenzhen Fishermen's Village, Shenzhen International Trade Center Building, Fairy Lake Botanical Garden (a hand-planted tree by Deng Xiaoping), all of which are important places visited by Deng.

Sea World (Minghua Cruise Ship)

Located on the west coast of Shenzhen, Sea World is instantly recognizable thanks to the iconic Minghua Cruise Ship, which combines a hotel, bars and restaurants all in one. Here, you can enjoy international cuisine, entertainment and endless activities.

The ship was used as a cruise ship in 1962 by French President Charles de Gaulle. Later in 1973 it was bought by the People's Republic of China and was renamed Minghua.

Shenzhen International Trade Center Building

The Shenzhen International Trade Center Building is an office tower and one of the earliest skyscrapers in Shenzhen.

Located at the junction of Jiabin Road and Renmin South Road, Luohu District, the building stands 160 meters tall and consists of 50 floors. Construction started Nov. 1, 1982 and was completed 37 months later on Dec. 29, 1985. Its fast construction process reflecting Shenzhen’s rapid development inspired the term “Shenzhen Speed.” It was the tallest building in China at the time of its completion.

Fairy Lake Botanical Garden

The Fairy Lake Botanical Garden is a 1,349.20-acre botanical garden and arboretum located in Liantang Subdistrict, Luohu District. It is situated at the foot of Wutong Mountain, adjacent to the Shenzhen Reservoir.

The garden was categorized as a 4A national tourist site by the China National Tourism Administration in 2007 and a national key park by the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development in 2008.

Founded in 1983, the Fairy Lake Botanical Garden first opened to the public in 1988. It incorporates scientific research, science popularization and tourism.
