Dapeng New District has actively developed industrial clusters in biomedicine, health, synthetic biology, as well as cell and gene industries.

Bai Zongke, president of Shenzhen Zeyi Cell Therapy Co., highlighted three reasons for choosing to settle in Dapeng. First, the new area offered favorable measures, with efficient handling of matters by government departments and corresponding guidance for innovative industries. Second, Dapeng’s location provides a suitable environment for scientific research, surrounded by mountains and seas, away from the bustling downtown. Third, the area has taken measures to address the concerns of scientists and their families, such as assistance in enrolling their children in local schools.

Bai expressed during the meeting that their goal is to establish a world-class cancer control and prevention center.

In order to combat cancer, Zeyi has joined forces with Nobel Prize winners, academicians, top-notch scientists and medical experts to launch the Tian Nian Health Stem Cell, which aims to extend people's life expectancy through precise cell therapy within 20 years.

Cui Baoshan from the China Health Promotion Foundation Cancer Control and Prevention Project, introduced that the program was initiated in 2000 when academician Wu Mengchao proposed the concept of cell therapy.

When discussing the attractiveness of Shenzhen, Michael Levitt, winner of the 2013 Nobel Prize for Chemistry, expressed, "I have been to many places in China, and this is my fifth time in Shenzhen. I think Shenzhen is unique due to its favorable location. Shenzhen is an innovative city that serves as a testing ground for new ideas and measures. Moreover, Shenzhen is leading the way in the biomedicine industry, which will greatly benefit the industry's development."
