Dapeng New District is leveraging its unique coastal and ecological resources to become a premier destination for domestic tourism and outdoor recreation. Guided by the vision of becoming a ‘Domestic Alternative to International Travel’ and a ‘Haven for Outdoor Enthusiasts,’ the district is advancing a diversified tourism offering built around five core pillars: theme entertainment, conference and resort tourism, cultural and leisure tourism, mountain and coastal exploration, and marine activities.
Theme Entertainment
Dapeng is developing a high-impact theme park system with coordinated planning and phased implementation. A cluster of major attractions is underway, including LEGOLAND, additional large-scale themed parks, Jinshawan International Resort, a performance-focused amusement park, and an open ecological zoo. Together, these projects are set to form one of the most dynamic entertainment zones in the region.
Conference and Resort Tourism
The district is expanding its capacity to host international and high-end conferences through new facilities in areas such as the New Dapeng, Baguang, and Xichong zones. These include international conference centers, luxury hotels, and revitalized state-owned retreat venues. Efforts are also underway to upgrade the quality and regulation of local guesthouses and homestays.
Culture and Leisure
Historical and cultural destinations are being enhanced, including Dapeng Fortress and Tuyang Red Village, a key revolutionary heritage site. New developments such as Astronomy Town, the Rose Coast romantic tourism zone, and the Half-Day Cloud Outdoor Resort are introducing themed experiences that integrate science, culture, and lifestyle. Tourist attractions like the National Gene Bank and CGN Nuclear Technology Museum further enrich the district’s cultural landscape.
Mountain and Coastal Exploration
Dapeng’s rich natural terrain—including beaches, forests, trails, and greenways—provides ideal conditions for outdoor recreation. Signature events and experiences such as marathons, hiking festivals, diving, sea fishing, coastal camping, and beach music festivals are creating dynamic new tourism scenarios. The Longqibay ‘One Ridge, One Belt’ scenic routes and a multifunctional island ring road are also under development to enhance visitor access and experience.
Marine Activities
Dapeng is cultivating a diverse portfolio of marine tourism products tailored to different audiences. Longqibay will offer relaxed, accessible water activities; Xichong will focus on premium, small-group marine adventures; Moon Bay will showcase cultural and experiential fishing traditions; and Dongchong will feature energetic, surf-based recreation. In addition, a demonstration zone for yacht tourism is being planned at Nanao Port, offering new models of water-based leisure.
