Main duties:

1. Be responsible for the supervision and management of ecological environment protection within its jurisdiction.

2. Be responsible for the pollution prevention and control of air, water, ocean, soil, noise, light, odor, solid waste, chemicals, motor vehicles and other pollution within its jurisdiction.

3. Undertake the administrative licensing of ecological environments within its jurisdiction; implement the system of simultaneous design, construction and operation of construction projects and environmental protection facilities; be responsible for the law enforcement of ecological environments within its jurisdiction in its own name; investigate illegal acts; and carry out daily supervision and inspection on pollution prevention, ecological protection, nuclear and radiation safety and other related work.

4. Undertake the stability maintenance work through a petitioning system within its jurisdiction.

5. Organize publicity and education activities concerning ecological environment protection within its jurisdiction.

6. Undertake other work as may be assigned by the municipal bureau and support related work of the New District government.
