Main duties:

(1) Implement State, provincial and municipal laws, regulations and policies on the supervision of land planning and handling of illegal buildings that occur during the urbanization of rural areas; and draft policies on land planning supervision for the New District and implement the policies upon approval.

(2) Coordinate the assessment of shared responsibilities in investigations of illegal land use and illegal buildings in the New District.

(3) Be responsible for the review and approval of temporary land use and temporary constructions within its jurisdiction.

(4) Investigate major cases of land planning supervision; urge and instruct the land planning supervision teams of government offices on daily inspections and law enforcement within its jurisdiction.

(5) Coordinate the handling of illegal buildings that occur during the urbanization of rural areas.

(6) Manage reserved lands for projects whose governing departments are to be decided, such as farmlands, forests, reservoirs and parks, as well as projects which will be in the charge of the New District, including cultural, education, sports and health facilities as well as municipal road construction.

(7) Be responsible for the production safety of the industry.

(8) Undertake other tasks as may be assigned by the Party Work Committee, the Management Committee and other higher authorities.
