Shenzhen initiated its first batch of 205 new projects for 2024 on Jan. 2. Five of the projects are located in Dapeng New District, representing a total investment of around 2.03 billion yuan (US$283 million), with 460 million yuan earmarked for 2024 alone.

The five Dapeng projects are the Shum Yip Group’s high-rise factories in Baguang, an advanced manufacturing park along the eastern coast, the government-subsidized Yunyuefu housing in the Kuixin community, the emergency center of the Shenzhen Daya Bay Nuclear Power Plant in the Kuifeng community, and the expansion of the canteen facilities at the High School Affiliated to Renmin University of China Shenzhen School in Kuichong Subdistrict.

The total investment of the Shum Yip Group’s high-rise factories in Baguang will be 1.02 billion yuan. The project, which covers an area of 30,984 square meters, primarily focuses on constructing factory facilities, dormitories and commercial areas. Similarly, the total investment of the eastern coastal advanced manufacturing park will be 710 million yuan. The project, strategically designed to accommodate industries focusing on biology, the marine sector, health, and others, will cover an area of 42,358 square meters.

Located at the interchange of Yanba Expressway and Huancheng West Road, the Yunyuefu housing project will cover 7,508 square meters and include a construction area of around 40,513 square meters. With an anticipated investment of 160 million yuan, this project will feature two 31-story buildings.

The emergency center, spanning across 10,307 square meters with an expected investment of 130 million yuan, will function as a hub for scientific promotion and emergency drills. The school project is allocated a budget of 10 million yuan.
