Summer officially began in Shenzhen on April 8, as marked by five consecutive days with an average temperature above 22°C, the city's meteorological observatory announced April 15.
This was 12 days earlier than the usual start date of April 20.Meanwhile, the local weather forecast warned that Shenzhen has entered a period of frequent strong convective storms as the Guangdong provincial flood, drought, and typhoon control authority announced that the province has entered the flood season for 2025. Temperatures are expected to rise further in the coming week, with highs reaching between 32°C and 33°C. On Friday, scattered showers or thunderstorms are forecast, followed by a new round of more significant rainfall expected to begin around April 23.Residents are advised to pay close attention to the latest forecasts.
