The right tunnel of the Pengba Link in Dapeng has been successfully completed, marking a key milestone in the project, which is expected to significantly cut travel times within the area.
The project is scheduled to open to traffic by the end of this year. Once operational, the new link will reduce travel time between the Baguang area and the Pengcheng area from about 30 minutes to less than 10 minutes, according to project officials.
The Pengba Link is designed for a speed of 50 kilometers per hour and features four lanes with two-way traffic. The main route has a total length of 5.9 kilometers and includes the construction of five bridges, an extra-long tunnel, a tunnel monitoring station and related facilities.
Officials said it will improve connectivity between Dapeng New District and other parts of Shenzhen, support the more efficient allocation of regional resources and ease traffic congestion during peak tourism seasons.
