Dongshan Luzui Scenic Area in Dapeng New District has been named one of the city’s most distinctive tourist destinations in a 2024 evaluation, according to results released recently by the Shenzhen Tourism Association.

The coastal site was recognized for its distinctive mountain-and-sea landscape, well-developed tourism services and diverse ecological scenery, including beaches, reefs and coastal trails. The designation marks another milestone for Dongshan Luzui, which was previously rated a national AAA-level tourist attraction.

Local authorities said the area has built a cluster of coastal tourism sites centered on Dongshan Luzui, linking nearby destinations such as Jidiaosha and Yangmeikeng, and offering sightseeing, outdoor recreation and leisure travel experiences.

Officials said further upgrades to facilities and visitor services are planned as the community seeks to develop the area into a high-quality coastal tourism destination in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
