An immersive cultural event will be held on Feb. 7 and 8 at Dapeng Fortress, offering visitors an interactive way to experience the site’s maritime defense history.
The event will transform the centuries-old fortress into a role-playing environment in which visitors can participate in story-based activities inspired by local history. Upon entry, visitors will receive themed tokens through interactive games staged at key heritage sites.

Visitors meet "generals" at the event.
Costumed performers portraying historical figures such as generals, fishermen and shopkeepers will interact with visitors throughout the town. Activities include guided walks along the ancient city wall, traditional folk songs, dialect learning sessions and game-based challenges set in historical streets and courtyards.
Food-themed tasks will encourage visitors to explore local alleys and sample traditional snacks, while earned tokens can be exchanged for cultural souvenirs related to Dapeng’s maritime heritage.
Dapeng Fortress, built more than 600 years ago, is one of southern China’s best-preserved coastal defense sites and a key cultural landmark in Shenzhen.
