Digital seafood specialty street opens in Dapeng
From:Shenzhen DailyUpdated:2026-02-26

A digital consumption-themed specialty street dedicated to dried seafood was recently unveiled at Nan'ao Seafood Street, marking the debut of Shenzhen’s first commercial district centered on online-enabled seafood retail.

The historic street has long served as a major distribution hub for dried seafood across the Pearl River Delta region. Authorities said the upgrade aims to integrate traditional specialty commerce with digital retail and tourism consumption.

More than 85% of merchants in the area have opened WeChat-based online stores, while over half have adopted livestreaming sales. Shops display standardized signs encouraging visitors to browse products by scanning QR codes, allowing customers to place orders online or send selected goods directly to friends and family via delivery services.

The district has also introduced a compensation regulatory framework for consumer disputes and has been recognized as a “worry-free consumption street” by Shenzhen regulators, officials said.
