A Lantern Festival celebration took place on March 3 at Dongchong Pier in Nan’ao, inviting residents and visitors to mark the traditional holiday with seaside festivities.
The event, themed “Reunion by the Mountains and Sea,” was held on the morning of March 3. No registration was required, and participants were able to join the activities on site.
Free servings of tangyuan, or sweet rice dumplings traditionally eaten during the Lantern Festival, were distributed to attendees. The program also featured intangible cultural heritage performances such as qilin dances, hands-on activities including Peking Opera mask painting and calligraphy writing, as well as interactive appearances by performers dressed as the God of Wealth.
