Authorities in Dapeng have cleared about 6,000 square meters of underused buildings in the Yangmeikeng area, marking progress in efforts to redevelop idle land and support tourism growth.
Yangmeikeng, a coastal destination in Dapeng, had been constrained by aging structures that no longer matched the area’s development needs. Local authorities coordinated with multiple government departments to carry out the demolition, and worked with property owners to reach agreements and complete the process smoothly.
Officials said the cleared site will be integrated with six other plots for a larger, unified development covering about 70,000 square meters. Plans call for the construction of a comprehensive tourism complex aimed at enhancing the area’s appeal and supporting Dapeng’s cultural and tourism sector.
The move is part of broader efforts to revitalize underutilized land, improve resource allocation and strengthen Dapeng’s positioning as a coastal tourism destination in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
