Recently, nearly 500 outdoor enthusiasts and trail runners took part in the sixth Nan’ao Tourism Hiking Event in Xinda, Nan’ao Subdistrict.
The approximately 11.5-kilometer route started at Shanghenggang, passed through forest trails and reached the summit viewing platform of Qiniang Mountain, Shenzhen’s second-highest peak. Participants enjoyed views of the surrounding mountains and coastline, taking in the area’s rich natural landscape.

Located within the Dapeng Peninsula National Geopark, Nan’ao is known for its coastal scenery, volcanic geological formations dating back about 140 million years and forest coverage of about 98%.
The event also featured traditional Qilin dance performances, a local market selling intangible cultural heritage foods and organic produce, and post-race stretching services.
Launched in 2020, the annual hiking event has attracted thousands of participants over the years. It has evolved from a sporting competition into a platform for showcasing Nan’ao’s natural and cultural attractions and promoting public fitness, combining outdoor recreation with cultural experiences and tourism.
