Eighty-eight students from Nan’ao Central Primary School in Dapeng took part in a marine education program featuring a glass-bottom boat tour, a coral reef lecture and a traditional shell-inlay craft workshop.
During the boat trip across Dapeng Bay, students observed coral and marine life through the vessel’s transparent bottom while learning about local marine ecosystems and underwater habitats.

A follow-up lecture introduced students to coral biology, reef formation and conservation, helping students understand the role coral reefs play in providing habitats for marine species.
Students also learned about the history and techniques of shell inlay, using shell materials to create their own crafts through design, arrangement and polishing.
Nan’ao has developed a range of educational routes for young people, covering traditional crafts, local cuisine, farming experiences and marine exploration.
