In 2007, the inaugural edition of the China Cup International Regatta (CCIR) was held in Shenzhen, marking the beginning of China's regatta event. 

The 15th edition of the regatta was held in Shenzhen's Dapeng New District from Nov. 2 to 6 this year. Over 1,200 competitors from more than 30 countries and regions, comprising of more than 200 fleets, engaged in fierce racing against the picturesque backdrop of Dapeng's coastal scenery. 

This year's CCIR is included in World Sailing's event calendar, symbolizing the recognition from the world sailing federation and international regattas. 

Furthermore, the event invited an international jury and a professional team of coordinators and supervisors to enhance its development with their wealth of experience.

Throughout the past 16 years, the China Cup has served as a bridge connecting sailing fleets worldwide, fostering cultural and technical exchanges between Chinese yachtsmen and their global counterparts. It showcases the vibrant growth of the sport in China while sharing Chinese stories with the world through the medium of sailing.
