Nan’ao festival marks return of fishing season
About 100 fishing boats set out from Nan’ao on Aug. 16 as commercial fishing resumed in the South China Sea following a three-and-a-half-month seasonal suspension.
The park centers on Dapeng Mountain, which rises 869.7 meters above sea level, making it Shenzhen’s second-highest peak. The area was formed by volcanic activity about 140 million years ago and today features some of the region’s most distinctive volcanic landscapes.
Once fully operational, the cultural center will feature a 1,200‑seat grand theater equipped with a lift stage and immersive audio, a 406‑seat black‑box theater, a library with a collection of 300,000 books, and an exhibition and event space. Floor‑to‑ceiling windows throughout the venue face Baguang Bay.
MOMOO Resort Phase II, known as Happy Planet, is the first pet-friendly coastal resort in the area. Built around a “3.0” concept of integrated travel for people and pets, the resort combines dining, accommodation, recreation, pet care and leisure in a one-stop beachfront destination.
A coastal road linking Huizhou’s Daya Bay area with Baguang in eastern Shenzhen is scheduled to open by the end of this year, providing a more direct route for cross-city travel and improving access to scenic destinations along the coast.
