Nan’ao festival marks return of fishing season
About 100 fishing boats set out from Nan’ao on Aug. 16 as commercial fishing resumed in the South China Sea following a three-and-a-half-month seasonal suspension.
Dapeng welcomed 866,800 visitors during China’s National Day holiday, with average daily visitor numbers rising 21.19% year on year, according to local authorities. Average daily overnight and inbound visitor numbers increased 30.35% and 70.27%, respectively.
Nan’ao in Dapeng recently held a community greening campaign at Moon Bay Square, distributing free flower seeds and offering gardening advice to residents and local businesses.
Nan’ao will host a series of cultural, music and outdoor activities during the National Day holiday from Oct. 1 to 7.
The first Nan’ao Egong Bay Paddleboard Carnival was held recently at Egong Bay in Dapeng, attracting 60 water sports enthusiasts and marking the start of Nan’ao’s 2026 outdoor sports season.
